Alexander William Boyd
Historical craft with contemporary values.
Over my initial career of 18 years as a stonemason, I had the incredible opportunity to bring life back into many prestigious heritage buildings around the world. In recent years I have been harnessing my experience behind the camera and canvas, transitioning into a new career in the visual arts.
Alongside my art practice, I host stone carving events for participants to explore the rare and fascinating world of stonemasonry. Giving people the opportunity to work with their hands, some for the first time ever, brings me great joy. Together, we create your very own relief carving in limestone which will last for hundreds of years.

My philosophy is that no matter what the subject - there is always a story to tell.
I create narrative driven short films on a variety of topics, from sports to weddings, travel and beyond.
Recent work includes a Short Documentary for The Glenbow Museum.

Photographer
My camera has been by my side from day one.
It all started from mountainbike & BMX magazines I enjoyed as a young lad. I accidentally purchased an SLR from Ebay, thinking it was a digital camera like the guys I looked up to in the magazines used.
I’ve been documenting the world around me ever since.

My imagination needed more than what the camera could allow me to do.
Over the past few years I have been starting to produce my own illustrations, characterizing and documenting the world of trail culture, a community close to my heart. Bringing client’s visions to life is a great source of joy.
